Quilt Shops Along the Way

Florida- 2014
Sew and Quilt Shop
4601 E. Moody Blvd.
Bunnell, FL
Sells Janome, but does not have much fabric. GPS directions are incorrect.

Magrieta's Quilt Shop
142 King's Street
St. Augustine, FL
Very nice selection of fabrics-no reproduction prints, but lots of batiks, orientals, and contemporary.

Bee's Quilt Shop and Studio
1690 US South 1
St. Augustine, FL
Shop just opened in 2013. It's small, but friendly.

West-2012
Suppose Quilt Boutique
21 N. State Street
Preston, Idaho
After I read about this shop in the Spring/Summer 2012 issue of Quilt Sampler Magazine, I knew I wanted to visit. It is located right on the main road going north from Salt Lake City. I loved the numerous modern fabrics, and it also has more traditional lines and batiks. In the back room there were fat quarters for $1.85 and remnants for sale.

Stitch n Time, Inc.
955 Alpine Lane
Jackson, Wyoming
Stitch n Time has lots of western themed fabrics, plus many other lines. It was a bit pricey, though. The fat quarters were $3 each, and fabrics ran around $12 a yard. They do have a sale section, but I didn't find anything I wanted there.

Washoe Quilt Shoppe
392 Highway 308 West
Washoe, Montana
This shop is only 4 miles east of Red Lodge, Montana. What a very cool building! It was built in 1906 as a mining office. It's a small shop, but packed full of fabric, fat quarters, books and patterns. Fat Quarters were $3.00 each, but some were bundled 4 for $10. Note: it's closed on Saturdays, but open on Sundays!

Cotton Capers Quilt Shop
425 S. Main Street
Choteau, MT 59422
Cotton Capers is now one of my favorite shops! Even if you are not a quilter, stop in to see the many sample quilts and wallhangings on display. There are lots of kits, and loads of fabric. I stimulated the economy here:) Bonus: Buy 5 fat quarters, get one free!

The Sugar Pine Company
737 Tenth Street at Seventh Avenue
Canmore, Alberta, Canada
This shop has 8,000 bolts of fabric! Everything was pricey (as all things are in Canada) but the size of this place and the number of items and bolts of fabric it has is amazing!

Stychen Tyme
402 Patricia Street
Jasper, Alberta, Canada
This was a small quilt and yarn shop in the town of Jasper. The bargain here was a large selection of $2 FQ's!

Cascade Fabrics
824 Metcalf Street
Sedro Woolley, WA
Nice, large shop, but not much on sale. I bought a handmade angel ornament from another customer, Lulu, who had brought it in to show the proprietor.

Quilter's Workshop
601 SE Pioneer Way
Oak Harbor, WA
Very small, but I found some unusual fabric here.

Heirloom Quilts
18833 B Front Street
Poulsbo, WA 98370
This is a beautiful, large shop...and it's for sale! Not much on sale, but lots to see. It's in a nice shopping area.

Quilt Harbor
208 S. Broadway St.
Aberdeen, WA
Not much exciting here. Small, boring selection of fabric. First quilt store I visited where I didn't buy anything!

Sisters Fabrics
 476 N Market
Chehalis, WA 98532
One of the best fabric stores I have ever visited! This store is packed with 11,000 bolts of fabrics and has a large section of $5 a yard bolts.

Quilter's Cove
27N Coast Highway
Newport, OR 97365
Lots of patterns, but not much fabric. Very small sale section. Not a destination quilt shop, by any means.

Wenz-daze Quilter’s Emporium
5045 Hwy 101 North
Florence, Oregon 97439
I didn't buy anything here, as none of the fabrics called out to me. Nothing much interesting here, and the prices were high.

Goose Tracks
728 North 2nd Street
Lakeview, OR 97630
This is a very small shop with a very friendly proprietor. The fabrics ran around $8 a yard...a very good price!
